The Playground

The design of the Hilton Liverpool incorporated an area designated for A3 use, which since the opening of the hotel remained available. Post the opening of the hotel, The Ability Group conducted extensive research as to the most appropriate use of this unique location in the heart of Liverpool One and within the Hilton Liverpool. The concept of a Late Night Bar was by far the most appropriate use for this space. George Panayiotou appointed Tim Mutton of Blacksheep to create a uniquely designed bar, offering an international experience, the like of which has not been seen in Liverpool and the surrounding region. Having worked closely with the Liverpool Council, consent has been agreed with opening hours in Year 1 until 6am and minimum of 4am in Years 2 and onwards. The capacity of the bar is in excess of 350 guests, the target audience being the discerning hotel guest and the high end Liverpool local market, as well as the extended market throughout the region. Table service will be emphasised with tiered pricing for tables and minimum table spends to encourage magnum sales of champagne and vodka. The bar design incorporates a VIP room with its own entrance. The main bar incorporates a DJ booth and stage. Prominent West End acts and DJ's are contracted to entertain the dynamic crowd, with the stage backdrop featuring a main wall with high definition LCD screen. The main bar incorporates specifically designed bottle towers at either end of the bar as well as a visual display wall for magnum and regular bottles. The Late Night Bar is open Friday and Saturday night, it will also operate mid week as an extension of the Hotel's facilities for which there is already significant demand.
